Briana and I just shot this.
Cool angle, beautiful model. It’s a wonderful photo.
The photographer says:
Natural light, natural girl, naturally gorgeous. Started out to do something totally different. Had issues with the doofus photographer forgetting to bring the fresh batteries he had just purchased. (I could use the red dress as an excuse for brain flushing all sense of reality, right? - NO; ed) So we ended up doing some ‘in the light’ shots which turned out great, and we did some sidelight shots which are unuseable cause the dress is really about 2 inches too short… (gulp)… then I had her in the rocks. The shots were OK, pretty good actually, but they weren’t making me jump. I remembered something I teach… don’t change the model, change your point of view. Instead of shooting across from her, I went high on a perch above and shot down. That fueled even more experimentation till we got to this set… very tricky dealing with a little patch of light that wanted to kill the shot by lighting up her nose, but with a talented model who is into what you are doing, giving the direction to keep the light off her nose was all that was needed. I changed to ’shade’ in the Raw conversion to add a little warmth. Photoshop: minimal for prep.
