Flickr has blocked Flickrbabes

Hello guys and girls, as you’ve noticed, this site isn’t displaying images anymore. For some unknown reason, flickr is now blocking flickrbabes.com from displaying their images. This has happened in the past (about 3 years ago), and it got solved easily by complying with some conditions set by the Flickr team. The site has been running fine since then, until a couple of days ago, when it got blocked again, without any apparent issue.

I’ve contacted Flickr Support, but still haven’t got an answer (only the typical automated emails telling me how they care about my issue and that I will soon get an answer). I hope they can provide an answer as to why this site got blocked, and hopefully there’s a nice solution.

Until then, you can only wait.

Not that you need to know but the pics do still come up if you’re using the RSS feed

This site was completely down temporararily. I’m afraid flickr has something to argue about pornographic contents. Certainly that’s not true.

You’re using their bandwidth; they’re trying to reduce costs; odds are, these two things have come into conflict in some executive’s head.

Note that Yahoo (who owns Flickr) has just dumped some of the top Flickr talent, and has been under significant financial pressure because of a number of other factors that range from dealings (or lack thereof) with Microsoft, the decision to abandon the original tree / user supplied site design that made Yahoo a worthy site on day one, and mismanagement within flickr (censorship, broken features, missing features, etc.)

I hope they unblock; but if not, though I know it’s worth nothing, I just want to say that I appreciated your efforts.

Bandwith, baloney. The key to successful web presence is linkage. There are three words that apply: Promotion, Promotion, Promotion. Back in the day it was called penny wise and pound foolish. If they don’t want their bandwith used, they would be best not to provide the link code.

Maybe after some consideration the support team will come to their senses. It is impossible to police the web, and having visitors to your site is what it is all about, Isn’t it?

Thats a shame, and i dont think its because of bandwidth, we are talkin about Flickr who has millions of photos uploaded daily. I rather think its because of copyrights or a new scheme of security/advertising/naming for image links.

Sorry for the bad news, hopefully it comes back up

Were you blogging photos that did not have the ‘blog this’ feauture enabled and thus were not supposed to be blogged ?

What was the reason during the first block on the past please ?

    thanks

an innocent daily little bit of inspiration by the most incredibly talenterd people just dumped by who knows who. I think these artists deserve an apology.
